Michael Luebbert, M. Div., Ph.D., currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, where he works as a clinical psychologist in the state prison system and in his private practice. He also works with churches as a ministerial assessment specialist and his teaches in the Graduate Program in Christian Spirituality at Creighton University. The current book grew, in part, from his research on personality variables that help and hinder forgiveness, his attempts to help incarcerated youth work through their grudges, and his teaching of a course on the Spiritual and Psychological Foundations of Forgiveness to ministerial professionals in a graduate school setting. He brings to his integrative study of forgiveness a diverse academic background, which includes an M.A. in English, an M. Div., an M.A. in Theology, an M.S. in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M. His interest in the interface of psychology, spirituality, and theology grew in the context of a personal faith journey that included a more-than-decade-long sojourn as a member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).
